MY PASSIONS
Skateboarding: I started skateboarding when I was 3 years old (1982). I picked it up because my older brother and his friends were into it. I prefer street skating, but I'll hit the skateparks every now-and-then. I recently received a halfpipe (which is now in my backyard) from a friend who's in the business. My board of choice is Santa Cruz.
Surfing: I basically started surfing when I was 9 years old (1988). My friends and I just decided one day that it was something we wanted to learn. It's kind of hard to get around it living in SoCal. I mainly surf shortboard, but I've surfed longboard on occasion. My favorite surf spots here in Cali are Huntington Beach, Trestles, and Laguna Beach.
Punk Rock: I started listening to punk when I was 8 years old (1987). It was one of those things I had to discover myself because there weren't any kids even close to my age who were into that stuff. I started playing guitar when I was a teenager. I've also fiddled around on bass and drums. I currently play guitar and sing in a punk band, called Human Debris, I started with some friends. We started out just playing covers, kind of like Me First & The Gimme-Gimmes. Since then we've written a ton of original songs and have been compared to the Offspring and Bad Religion.
Medicine: I guess I made the firm decision to become a doctor when I was in the 6th grade (1990). I have my Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology from USC, where I also went to med school. I'm involved with various research projects and I am currently a double specialist in Neurosurgery and Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
Flying: I've been fascinated with flying for as long as I can remember. When my brothers were playing with toy cars and trucks, I was playing with toy airplanes. When I became old enough, I started taking flying lessons. I now have my license to fly small planes and jets. I enjoy performing aerobatics. My aircraft of choice to fly is a Cessna Citation CJ1.
